New Beginnings COVID-19 Update

We're open with safety precautions in place. While it is exciting to have our church doors open again, but first and foremost we are going to continue to seek to safeguard the health and safety of our congregation and community by following the guidance being given. We are also aware that things are changing and adjusting, so please be flexible with us as we communicate changes. We want to be smart and safe so please see our FAQs below for specific details related to our reopening process.

Please continue to check our website and Facebook page for updates. If you are not already signed up for our church communication emails, please do so HERE.

You can worship in the sanctuary, or in a classroom with your family (classrooms must be reserved in advance).

  • What Safety Measures Can I Expect to See on a Sunday Morning?
We are requiring* everyone to wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth while on our property (including during the worship service). We will have masks available for you to use and keep. We will remove the first few rows in the Worship Center to create an extra buffer between the people on the platform (who will not wear masks when speaking or singing) and those seated. *If you have a medical condition that prohibits you from wearing a masks, please contact the church so we can discuss arrangements. We will have seats spaced apart. We will have classrooms available where we will stream the service on the T.V. Entrance into the sanctuary will be limited to one direction.
  • Will Online Worship Services Continue to be Offered?
Yes! We know that not everyone may be ready to return and due to the limitations in our seating capacity as we work to maintain proper social distancing, we will continue to offer online streaming of our Sunday services. You can access that on our YouTube channel or our Facebook page. We are also trying different ways for our online community to stay connected, please let us know if you're watching online and want to be more connected to others.
  • What About Meet & Greet, Refreshments, Offering, & Communion?"
As much as we would like to give hugs and shake hands, due to our greater desire to maintain the health and safety of our New Beginnings family, we will not have these times of greeting until further notice. We will not serve coffee, refreshments until further notice. We have put offering boxes on the worship booth that you can place it in on your way in or out, plus we still have the online giving options, so we will not be passing the offering plates during the service. For Communion we have individually wrapped saltines, and pre-packaged juice placed on the seats.
  • How Will We Maintain Social Distancing During Worship?
To ensure proper social distancing during the worship services we have spaced out chairs (allowing for Family Units to sit next to each other). We are more than willing to provide additional service times to be able to accomodate more people.
  • What Cleaning Measures are Being Taken During This Time?
Our church is constantly being cleaned, and we will sanitize the seats and wipe down surfaces and doors before services each Sunday and after the services. We will prop open doors to require less touching of handles. We will have cleaning supplies available for restrooms to help keep those areas cleaned. Hand sanitizer can be found in the restrooms as well. Please remember to frequently wash your hands, and if you or anyone in your family is not feeling well, please stay home.
  • What About Sunday School, Children's Ministry, & Nursery?"
We have Sunday School classes meeting in person & online. If you'd like more information contact Judy (see email below). Our preschool class is now meeting again. Contact Judy Riley: judy@delawarenewbeginnings.com with any questions.
  • How do I know if I should Worship From Home?
While we greatly desire to worship together with each of you, the safety of our entire church family is of paramount importance. We also wish to respect the desires of each individual and family in choosing whether to join us in person or remain worshiping online. If you or someone in your family has had a fever, cough, traveled, or been asked to quarantine by a medical or government official in the last 14 days, we appreciate your willingness to stay home and help protect others. We also understand that it is each individual's choice on whether to attend or not, but if you have a weakened immune system due to underlying health conditions, or are considerable vulnerable by the CDC, we ask that you prayfully and carefully consider your return to church.
