Meet our Staff

Pastor:
David Porath
I love Jesus and am always being made new by his grace. I am thankful that he loves a
sinner like me. I was born in Wisconsin and raised in Nebraska. I grew up in a
Lutheran congregation and spent most of my schooling at a parochial school (even high
school). I knew as a child I was called into ministry but decided to take the long way in
accepting that call. I would say that my life has reflected that of the Prodigal Son.
I have been in ministry full-time since 2011. I answered the call into ministry and began
as a youth pastor (5 years), then an associate pastor (3 years), and as a lead pastor
since 2019. We believe that God called us to come and serve at New Beginnings
Church which we began February 2025.
I came to Ohio via the United States Air Force where I served for 4 years as Security
Forces. It is also where I met my wife, Tracy. We have two adult children. Justine has spina bifida and cruises around in her motor wheelchair. At church you may even see her therapy dog Murphy. She lives with us at our home in Delaware. We also have two other dogs that rule over us at home (Nelson and Willow).
My son, Christian, is married to Maggie. They blessed us with our first grandchild and
granddaughter, Wrenlee. They live a little over an hour away, but you will see them on
Sundays every now and then.
As a recovering sports junkie, I continue to support Nebraska Cornhuskers collegiately
and Wisconsin pro teams (Packers, Brewers, and Bucks). I love going to movies and
concerts, watching westerns and military movies, walking the dogs, visiting Wrenlee,
and starring into the starry night sky on the plains of Nebraska (you need to try it sometime).

Generosity Coordinator:
Teena Yeary
Teena manages the giving blessings at New Beginnings and enjoys using her skills for the kingdom of God. Born and raised here in Delaware County, she and her husband Keith have a family of 4 daughters and 8 grandchildren. She loves reading, painting, playing guitar and spending time with her family and fur babies.

Worship
Coordinator:
Steve Paxton
Steve is our Worship Coordinator and oversees service planning, music and media. He began playing and singing at a young age and spent many years in Nashville as a professional musician. In 2014, he re-connected with a high school friend Vonda, who later became his wife. They have a beautiful, talented daughter Myah. Steve likes to write and record songs as well as teach piano at his home studio. He enjoys spending time with his family traveling, playing games and watching movies together.
