Be Still and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. – Psalm 46:10 (KJV)
I was praying about what to write. I had nothing planned then God showed me this scripture. I read the entire chapter, which is only 11 verses; I realized how relevant the ancient words are to what is going on in our world today, with world conflicts, floods, eruptions, earthquakes - to name a few. Through this chapter, God is letting us know He is a refuge to His people; for example, He shares with us in verses 1-3 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride.”
Sometimes there is so much going on everywhere and I have no words to say because the Lord’s words are what I need to hear. May we all find comfort in Psalm 46 and rest in the truth that God is with us and wants us to hear what He is saying and know that He will be exalted in the earth. I hope it starts with us as we allow Him to use us for His glory in a time such as this. May we believe God is who He says He is and will do what He says He will do - no matter what is going on around us because “The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold.” -Psalm 46: 7 (NASB)
Heavenly Father, You are truth, You are victorious and You keep Your word, may we be still and listen to You as You show the world who You are, may it start with us as we speak Your truth to others.
