Choose Our Words Wisely

Updated: Jan 3

Set a guard over my mouth, Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips. - Psalm 141:3 NIV

I recently had an “I quit” moment and verbalized my discontent. Even though I wasn’t quitting on God, I wanted to leave the difficult situation that would take wisdom, a miracle, and a decision. We all have struggles and I share mine to help others overcome and continue trusting that God will get us through. My sister in the Lord did the same for me by sharing how powerful our words are and sharing the above scripture with me. She also shared how David didn’t approach Goliath and say “I quit,” He came in the name of the Lord and declared victory while facing the giant as shown in 1 Samuel 17. I will share her prayer.

“Father, thank You that You are the Most High God and that no giant is too great for You. Thank You that You being for me is more than anything that comes against me. Help me to be like David and put a watch over my lips and declare Your Word to the enemy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
