The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands. - Psalm 138:8 ESV
It’s becoming clear that the Holy Spirit likes me to wake up and ponder what happened in a dream I may have had that evening. I know when I wake up and I’m filled with some emotion there are questions I need to ask God and one is what do you want me to gain from this? In the past, I have been in relationships with unfaithful people,
which I sometimes dream about. The go-to response is that I was never enough. Something is wrong with me. As it turns out some of these folks continued with the pattern of unfaithfulness, which has everything to do with them and I had to see if I had a part in attracting the unfaithful. I concluded that God is enough.
I had to learn it is okay for others to walk alongside me to encourage me to be what God has called me to be, but it’s not okay for them to control me and turn me into them all the while expecting me to stay in an unfaithful relationship. God is faithful. He will instruct us in the way we should go. He will work in us and through us to accomplish His purpose. He won’t compare us to His other children who we think have it all together. We are His workmanship, fearfully and wonderfully made in His image. He began good work with us and is faithful in completing it.
No matter your past whether you have been rejected by others who should have treated you well and who blamed, compared, or criticized you. God will get you through your pain, and your past. Whatever it is you are carrying, lay it down and ask God to give you a new perspective through His eyes and how He sees you.
Heavenly Father, You are the true Almighty God, You are faithful, and You love us with everlasting love. There are times when we are left with only ourselves, help us see that You are enough and You are creating something new in us for Your glory and Your purpose. Let us rest in You, the Almighty God.
