The Lord God is my strength, and He has made my feet like hinds’ feet, and makes me walk on my high places. – Habakkuk 3:19 NASB
Today was strange, but it’s okay because God got me through. Some of my plans were checked off but it wasn’t without difficulty and I inconvenienced others because of being unprepared. I’m grateful for their kindness and patience with me. Then God showed up again by directing me to a place to get my tire checked which ended up unrepairable. I saw how hard the mechanics were working while I waited for the results of my tire. Greasy hands, men, and women working tirelessly on customer's vehicles.
My heart was soaking it all in even though the blaring music didn’t have lyrics I’d repeat. I was absorbing the people and the moment. As the day continued, neighbors came out to help start my dad’s truck which had a dead battery. Earlier, my daughter came home with an emotional crisis. Late last week my horse fell with me riding so I was expecting a call from the vet to schedule a day to examine him this week which hasn’t happened yet. I couldn’t get to the barn to check on him today because of all the other issues, yet through my disappointment, I saw all these folks who stepped in, laughed with, and brightened my day despite it all.
There are days that I imagine are a zillion times worse than mine or may be full of unplanned circumstances and inconveniences and we ask ourselves later, ‘How did I ever get through that?’ One can see that the world can be a challenging place to live but through it all, we can look around and see God in others, or throughout our day, appreciate the day, and believe “Yet I will exult in the LORD, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation". -Habakkuk 3:18 NASB
Heavenly Father, the True Almighty God, maker of heaven and earth, I thank You for the folks I encountered today through observation and interaction. I thank You for each of them and ask that You reveal Yourself to them all and may the glory go to You this day as You have put me in a high place to see You.
