Blank Pages

He brought me out into a spacious place; He rescued me because He delighted in me. -Psalm 18:19 (NIV)

It’s been one of those whirlwind days and now the sun has set, the crickets are chirping, and I am staring at a blank page and all I have is what my heart is holding, and that is gratitude, joy, and uncertainty. After waiting on the Lord for a new devotion to put in writing, He reminded me to go back and look at what He has said to me in the past. There are certainly lessons, encouragements, and promises that I have not allowed to sink into my soul because I am too busy wondering what’s next.

I keep journals of my prayers and scriptures that the Lord has placed in my path as steppingstones toward growing and journeying within His plans. Today, I opened my journal to a scripture written from Psalm 18:32 It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. (NIV)

Sometimes our way can seem like a blank page, we don’t have a thought about our next endeavor, or what the future holds. Maybe look back on what the Lord has done for you in the past or write what he has done for you today, then keep track of how faithful God is and how much you’ve grown in your relationship with Jesus.

Before you know it, the pages will be filled with your life and a way to recall God’s delight in you.

Heavenly Father, thank You that You have a purpose and a plan for each one of us, thank You that speak to us in Your word, help us to hide Your words within our heart or write what we hear You say so that we may share Your love with others.
