“Can a man hide himself in hiding places, so I do not see him?” declares the LORD. “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” Declares the LORD. -Jeremiah 23:24
Some forums are meant to share ideas and ask questions on social media. People share at their own risk because some say the unkindest things. One comment that stuck with me from a person replying to an honest question was, “These people vote and reproduce?” This leads me to the question of whoever made this comment: Would they go up to someone, look them in the eye, and say, “Wow, just think, people like you reproduce and vote?” God sees it all, no matter what side of the fence we are on, whether we are bombarded by hateful comments or the ones dishing them out.
In 2 Timothy 2:23 (ESV), God tells us to “Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels.” For those of us who are followers of Christ, we are instructed in Galatians 6:9-10 “Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.” A kind answer can turn away anger and stop a quarrel before it begins. Let us make a difference with our words and actions that reflect Christ since we are His ambassadors who imitate His image. (Additional reading: Ephesians 4, 5)
Heavenly Father, Thank You that You are a God near and not far off that You are the same God that made it known in the Old Testament that You saw what false prophets were doing. You are without limits and see today what is happening behind a screen, behind the wheel of a vehicle, and closed doors. May Your Spirit convict us when needed and may we hide in the shadow of Your wings when needed for Your glory and purpose.
