“By this all people will know that you are my disciples: if you have love for one another.” - John 13:35 (NASB)
There are folks I have in my life that I may not see every day, but I find comfort just knowing they are around, like my friend who would greet me with a warm smile and a big strong hug each Sunday. As the years passed his consistency never wavered even though his body was showing signs of frailty. Little did I know I had received the last hug.
Tears flow remembering the sweet soul of my friend who has gone to be with the Lord, and as I vividly recall the last hug that Sunday, I am grateful that he always took the time to say hi and share his love for me and my daughter.
His example has shown me the importance of noticing others and to make the extra effort to seek out someone to say hello, offer kindness, or a hug because you never know if it will be the last time, you see them.
Heavenly Father, thank You that You are love and desire that we receive Your love and share what You have given us to others. May our love for You and one another be evident to those who need to know You.
