Come to Me

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. FOR MY YOKE IS EASY AND MY BURDEN IS LIGHT.” - Matthew 11:28 (NASB)

I have had conversations with several folks about Christ and how much He loves them and something they said broke my heart-for them. They said, “He could never love me or forgive me for all I have done.”

Whether we have a past full of bad choices we made or others have made or we are presently in the midst of struggles with any aspect of life (regardless of who is at fault-for example: Adultery, divorce, drugs, single parenting, financial hardships, anything…) Jesus said “Come to Me, all” which represents you and me. I have a past; I am a single mother of an adult with special-needs. I get tired, I get weary. Are you tired and weary of trying to do it all on your own? We weren’t meant to carry the heavy load of life.

Maybe you don’t have the words to say or know how to turn your burden over to Jesus. The scripture in Romans 10: 13 says that “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Maybe start with saying “Jesus help me.” Then let the rest of the words flow as you release the cares of your heart onto His.

Lord, thank You for Your lovingkindness that is gentle and humble. Help those who are in need of Your rest to turn to You and call upon Your name as You lead them into a life carried by You, our Savior.
