In Our Weakness

Now in the same way the Spirit also helps in our weakness; for we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; - Romans 8:26 (NASB)

Do you ever have days when there are just too many demands to pick through to decide what to do? The possibilities could be tasks, emotions, finances, work or family problems, health, serving others who need help and so on.

I have felt this way on several occasions and all I could come up with is this prayer from the above scripture. I just said, “Lord, You know me, You know that I can’t comprehend what to pray for, I need Your intercession, thank You for interceding for me.”

Sometimes we just don’t have the answers, the questions, or the strength to communicate to God in a way that portrays the clamor within us, but Christ Jesus is already interceding on our behalf as His beloved. In that truth, I found comfort and new mercies to continue running the race before me until the day I get to meet Jesus face-to-face at the finish line. (Acts 20:24)

Heavenly Father, thank You that You are an ever-present help in our time of need. Thank You that Your Spirit knows the depths of our heart and You intercede for Your children. Thanks for showing us we can trust You. (Psalm 46:1; Proverbs 20:27; Psalm 115:11)
