Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” - John 14:6 (NKJV)
There was a point in my life when I was in my 20’s and I felt as though my whole world was in an upheaval. I had put my hope in a person, a job, and a lifestyle that I thought would always be there. Boy, was I wrong. During this transition, my grandmother allowed me to stay with her for a short time.
One evening while in my room, I had reached the conclusion that I couldn’t face life any longer. I raised up from my bed to reach a bottle of pills, planning to consume the entire bottle, and as I was reaching for the bottle, I was overcome with peace which lowered me gently backward onto the bed. The bottle was left untouched.
Jesus never forgot that I had given my heart to Him as a young child, and I believe He was in that moment of peace reminding me that I had. Jesus said in verse 27, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
For all the hope I had lost in my 20’s, that I thought was enough to give up my life over, was a lie. The truth is, Jesus did give up His life so that I may live life His way here on earth and for all eternity through Him.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus who leads us to You. Thank You that You give us chances to accept Jesus as our Savior. I am saved by Your grace, thank You. May You be glorified!
