“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future…” - Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
It’s the end of the year, only a few days left. It seems like the year only lasts a few months because so much happens all at once that it’s hard to keep track of the days. I must sit down and ponder what happened this year.
One thing is for sure, I want to stay focused on the day and yet keep my heart set on what God may have in store for the future. I wouldn’t say this will be a New Year Resolution because I’m better at a day-by-day approach to life. I really don’t want to keep dragging my past into the next year. I’d like to move forward into the new and that is something I can do today.
So, if you are like me, it’s okay to set a goal for a minute and accomplish it because the days go by fast and before you know it a new goal can be set, especially when we have the Lord to talk to and His strength to move forward, minute-by-minute, and step-by-step.
I know that God wants us to be in a close relationship with Him, and the closer we are we will sense His grace as He leads us forward one breath at a time.
Heavenly Father, thank You for this year of trials and joy, thank You that You never leave us nor forsake us. It is with great humility that I can be called Your child and that You are my future with each beat of my heart.
