And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. - Romans 12:2 (NASB)
I’m not sure about you, but I know I can feel pretty puzzled by the divisive aroma in our world today. It hasn’t changed my thinking about what I believe concerning my faith in God but instead has prompted me to affirm where my beliefs come from, in the event I need to speak it. (Proverbs 25:11)
I’ve not studied Albert Einstein’s beliefs, but I really connected with his quote: “Whatever is right is not always popular and what is popular is not always right.” Keeping this perspective in mind along with God’s word like the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:2-17) has been a moral compass to keep my mind and heart on the acceptable will of God.
God says we are blessed (happy) when we when we walk in His ways, and we won’t be ashamed when we look upon all His commandments and when we treasure His Word in our hearts. (Psalm 119)
In a short, I get my beliefs from God, I believe His Word to be true and I like being happy.
Heavenly Father, You say we are strangers in this world (1 Peter 2:11-13) and to renew our minds; may we let go of any thoughts feeding worldly desires that may be contrary to Your good and perfect will for us.
