Stand Firm

Updated: Jan 12, 2022

“The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of His heart from generation to generation.” - Psalm 33:11 (NASB)

At times standing firm can be a lonely space, especially in these turbulent times, with all the varying opinions and opposition cast on one another, and such. But sometimes we have to go against the current and stand up for the principals that our Christian life is grounded on. In John 15:18, Jesus said we would be hated because others hated Him first. The fear of upsetting others, being ridiculed or losing something can be a deterrent when standing for what we know is true.

We must speak the truth and stand in truth, as well as believe that God wants His light to shine through us. A light house is standing alone in the storm, battered by the waves and wind, yet those who see the light from afar have hope.

When the worlds beliefs rage against us, we must not drift, but remember we belong to our Father in Heaven and He is our anchor, our counsel.

If you are faced with what the world says is correct, look to God’s word and see what He says, and yes, you may stand alone in this world, but God will honor your obedience and be with you. Obedience is part of the stand.

Heavenly Father, You are a Holy God and Your words are flawless. Strengthen us to stand firm and courageous as we live out a life of faith. May what we say and do be out of love for You and others.
