To God be the Glory

“This is eternal life, that they may Know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” - John 17:3 (NASB)

Have you ever had something good happen and you think about it most of the week and when you aren’t thinking about it, it’s still with you in your heart? I had this experience this past Sunday at church during praise and worship when a thought crossed my mind - that in this room we have all kinds of people with all kinds of hardships - you name it. And in spite of what is going on in the lives of the congregation, praise and worship was brought forth to the Lord because He is still worthy of our adoration.

It really struck me to see the joy coming from those within my view and the sound of the voices throughout the sanctuary as they were presenting their singing hearts to the Lord God in the midst hardship.

God is real and for those who have not learned the truth of who He is saddens me because Jesus says in a prayer to God, “But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so they may have My joy made full in themselves.” (Verse 13)

We as followers of Christ have been given eternal life, God’s word, and joy even though life is hard, and I wish all would see how great our God is and want to know Him.

Heavenly Father, I thank You that through Jesus You have made a way for us to be with You eternally. Thank You for the joy You give us in knowing You and believing in You, the only true God.
