Instant Response

“Teach me, and I will be silent; And show me how I have done wrong.” - Job 6:24 (NASB)

I was looking around the house and noticed how many remotes are here to turn on the tv, the fireplace, the ceiling fan and I can even say “Alexa do this or that” or ask Alexa to tell a joke. I have a microwave and can heat food in seconds, I have instant gravy mix, 5-minute oatmeal to cook on the stove top. These seem ancient compared to what one can do on the smart phone and smart house apps.

It's no wonder patience is a lost virtue when we imagine that God is going to cater to our every whim when it may be patience, He is teaching us. But there are things that God will do for us in an instant such as, forgive us when we repent for our sins, or call upon the name of Jesus and we shall be saved (Colossians 2:13), and the calling of His children home in the twinkling of an eye (1 Corinthians 15:52). Anything is possible with God (Mark 10:27).

Heavenly Father, thank You for pointing out that I am guilty of expecting You to instantly fix something and miss the lesson You patiently show me over and over. Teach me to listen, obey and wait as You lead…and thank You for inventions that help us, so we have more time to spend with You.
