Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. - James 4:8 (NASB)
I was charging my phone and decided to put an earbud in to listen to some instrumental worship music as I prepared to quiet my soul for my devotion time. I walked about the house and remembered I cannot get too far away from my phone, or I will get some dead air in my connection.
God reminded me that this is what happens when we get too far away from Him and go off on our own, we can get interference in our connection to Him, not that He leaves us, but that we leave and miss out hearing from Him because of our hearts that harden or become indifferent to Him.
As I processed this, I thought of how I want to stay in range of my phone because I want to take the music and the mood with me, room to room. I pray I will be as mindful as I go from one place to another to keep my thoughts on Him, taking my heart of worship as I live moment by moment in Him.
O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; my soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. - Psalm 63:1 NASB
Heavenly Father, thank You for desiring to be close to Your creation, may we stay close to You and pursue Your will and Your purpose and not our own.
